I've always loved crows and I could never really put my finger on why they seemed so much more human than other birds. Its nice to see they're so clever. :)

I can see some beggar king with a flock of crows scouring the city for lost spare change, and accosting anyone trying to feed a parking meter.

This is a cool idea though. I presume they could be taught to collect trash and sort recyclables. I guess you'd need to have someone watching the box via webcam to authorize the reward -- an easy low paying (low overhead cost) job.

Now, the icing on the cake would be teaching them to poop in one spot for a peanut -- cleaner city, compost the poo.
