How to survive a nuclear attack: Dr. Irwin Redlener on TED.com

The face of nuclear terror has changed since the Cold War, but disaster-medicine expert Dr. Irwin Redlener reminds us that the threat of nuclear attack is still real. He's passionately committed to making sure that -- if the worst happens -- we'll have the tools and knowledge we need to recover. In this talk, he looks at some of history's farcical countermeasures against the nuclear threat, and offers real, practical advice on how to survive an attack. (Recorded February 2008 in Monterey, California. Duration: 25:18.)
