What to hope for if you are in Mexico City? It is especially hard to be within a problem where you cannot help anyone, or do anything. Being a mathematician, all I am waiting for is for the government to provide the attention that is needed. But, that´s not much really. Why not take this example to add Larry Brilliant´s ideas to the countries agreements to have a common health database? Is there any international physician´s team that could provide help and certainty about our future?

This really isn't as bad as people say. I saw this website that puts the info from the CDC into a cool animation like the movie Outbreak or something:

http://www.swine-flu-map-animation.com/

So it looks pretty crazy like it is taking over America, but there are still only 141 cases. Not quite a pandemic.

Why don't any of you so called experts suggest we just give up pigs as a food product!
Don't need them, can do with out them.

It happens when people leave their homes and gather out. If the weather is nice and people travel out to beach or outdoor event or kids play outside together.....it's going to spread..like in September thru November is connected to when kids go back to school. Kids are the worst spreaders..because they are not conscious about sneezing in upper arm or washing their hands...then they bring it home to parents..then parents bring it to work.

Swine flu and all other flus are not spread by pigs nor from being in contact with them. It's spread from human to human. I would bet that those 900 kids in Chicago who called in sick recently were not exposed to one pig. It's from people not washing their hands or covering their mouths into their upper arm or under their shirt when they cough or sneeze.
