Jane Poynter: Life in Biosphere 2

Posted by: Emily McManus

Jane Poynter tells her story of living two years and 20 minutes in Biosphere 2 — an experience that provoked her to explore how we might sustain life in the harshest of environments. This is the first TEDTalk drawn from an independently organized TEDx event, TEDxUSC, held at the University of Southern California. (Recorded at TEDxUSC, March 2009, in Pasadena, California. Duration: 15:54)

This was the most exciting talk on biosphere 2 that I have ever heard; I would like to know more on building biospeher’s; strictly to grow my vegetables and fruits; I think that soon we will see more and more self sufficient lives; I think our world as consumers is comming to an eventual end; Fending for ourselves should be widely taught; I would love to belong to an organization where self sufficiency is the major focus for our food, health, medical treatment and existence; I find this so exciting; Great piece!
