The silence and shame and stigma is a worldwide issue that desperately needs help. Recent reports from Canada say that in the western countries 60% of women and 40% of men have experienced sex abuse before the age of 18, with the average age being 7!!! This means that half are younger than 7.
I wish we had Sunitha's everywhere.... Society doesn't want to hear about it nor talk about it cuz it makes everybody "uncomfortable".

Sunitha said, "but every time my girl who was working there talked to a male colleague, immediately I would get a call -- "Oh Sunitha, you know this girl is getting very friendly with the men here." So you see, her every move is watched. She can't be friendly to a man, she can't fall in love with anybody." What a sorry state of affairs. Can you imagine if we treated robbery victims the same way?

Suppose a robbery victim went to a store to buy some groceries. What would you think if someone ran up to the store clerk saying "How can you take his money? Don't you realize he was robbed?" and then running up to the man saying, "How dare you spend money? Don't you realize you are a man who was robbed?" What a silly question. What a silly mindset. Just as ridiculous as the example Sunitha gave above...but it seems that many of us can't make that connection. I wonder why not? I am so very puzzled. God bless you, Sunitha, for persevering in the face of such sillines
