Great interview. I am keenly interested in Jane's work, and I think that there are a wide range of applications for this, that have not yet been considered.
I am keen to get your book (although I find it really annoying that I cannot buy it on my Kindle if I am in New Zealand - But they will ship a book here???!)

I look forward to hearing more on this as things progress.

Using some of the billions of hours we spend playing games to solve real world problems is not a simple idea but one on the brightest ideas I´ve ever heard. McConigal takes a step further to transform the bright idea into a relaity. Congratulations!

I agree that we have the misguided notion that games are just virtual. As a psychologist I can support the statement that the positive emotions games produce have a definite impact on health and happiness. As a transmedia storyteller, I can state that games are crossing over the media frontiers in newer ways. In transmedia we mix fiction and reality, virtual space with physical space. The concept virtual versus real is vanishing.

Finally, if we take the sense of accomplishment a game gives to the player and we take it to real-world activities, aren't we talking about a combination of fun and one the best natural therapies with direct positive consequences in our environment? Let´s go for it!
