Reconnecting with compassion: Krista Tippett on TED.com
The term “compassion” — typically reserved for the saintly or the sappy — has fallen out of touch with reality. At a special TEDPrize@UN, journalist Krista Tippett deconstructs the meaning of compassion through several moving stories, and proposes a new, more attainable definition for the word. (Recorded at TEDPrize@UN, November 2010, in New York, NY. Duration: 15:53)

I just listened to Krista Tippett’s Reconnecting with Compassion talk. I love how TED can introduce speakers who bend our mind around looking at something in a new way. That’s why I was struck by her statement that we should look at compassion as a technology. The technology of compassion. Thank you for that stimulating thought Krista. And always a great word of thanks to Karen Armstrong for the great work she does in the field of compassion. Jim Melfi, Founder, VideoTalks.org.
