Pollination: it’s vital to life on Earth, but largely unseen by the human eye. Filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg shows us the intricate world of pollen and pollinators with gorgeous high-speed images from his film “Wings of Life,” inspired by the vanishing of one of nature’s primary pollinators, the honeybee. (Recorded at TED2011, March 2011, in Long Beach, CA. Duration: 7:40)

Wonderful, wonderful! As a honey bee keeper, I love pollinators. Your images of other pollinators are beautiful. Now I love bats too!

Thank you for sharing the film …. it was great seeing the bats feeding from the flowers > I had never seen that before. I too have a hobby of photographing flowers and purring them up on my blog at http://feelgoodmessages.blogspot.com. I watch the bees and wasps and the blue bottle flies and butterflies in my garden feeding from the flowers and I send up a little prayer to God and ask him to make my garden a haven for all the birds and butterflies.
