Congratulations to Erik Wahl. The world will be amazed by him. He's one of those speakers that finishes but your imagination doesn't. I had the opportunity to invite to speak at our most recent convention in Las Vegas and people till today are still talking about his work. All it takes is to watch an Erik Wahl perform to know that there is a God out there because only he could make an Erik Wahl. Simply amazing.

Hi, Grant. I've been a teacher at The New School's Masters in Media Studies program for the past 11 years, and my Full Spectrum talk on May 24th will touch a little on the educational component of my medical avatar project.

Also, Dan Meyer, a math teacher, gave this terrific TED talk last year: http://www.ted.com/speakers/dan_meyer.html

Both my parents are teachers, so I share your appreciation of their unique insights!

Warm regards,
Virgil Wong

What a delightful mix of people and topics! Good job on your selections, that must have been a difficult task.

However... not one teacher? The University Researcher is close, I suppose. Perhaps no teachers applied (too busy?). Perhaps the people chosen are much more colorful (interesting?) than a school teacher. There are a great many TED presentations that have to do with learning in some way. But it might be fun, different, enlightening to hear from a school teacher. Maybe later?

Thank you, TED folks, for all you have done. My life has certainly been changed because of you.

Wow! There are some pretty exciting presentations in this list. The two I'm most excited for: Virgil Wong and the medical Avatars; and Cesar Kuriyama's 6-minute video of 1-year in his life.

With Love and Gratitude,
