“The strive for a washing machine is stronger than the strive for democracy,” says TEDTalks star Hans Rosling at the beginning of this casual video, shot at TEDxSummit last week. On a sunny Tuesday afternoon, Rosling sat down with a group of fans to chat about presenting data with clarity and passion — using Legos, rocks and humor that reveals deep insight. He muses, too, on TEDx itself, the worldwide movement of people sharing ideas at independent events in their own communities. What does it mean that so many people want to be part of TEDx — and what’s next?

Is his insight on TED’s vision or agenda which can be constantly adjusted according to its environment? “The strive for a washing machine is stronger than the strive for democracy”, imagine someday science can/may inject consciousness into someone’s bloodstream or where it needs, in the meantime, however, follow the TED.
