They say that change is hard, but this is one that will be easy to roll with. TED.com has a new, improved video player, built in large part thanks to your user requests. What should you expect? For starters, higher quality video, easier-to-read (and find) subtitles, and a toolbar that makes sharing, rating and favoriting talks easy.

Oh, and did we mention that you can now get the true full-screen TED experience? (To those of you who complained about our old faux-full-screen function, we listened.) Just click the button on the lower right corner of the player and — voilà — edge-to-edge picture at 720p, if your bandwidth supports it.

We’re so excited about our new TED.com player that we’ve created a playlist of five talks that deserve another, bigger look. Prepare for that feeling of total clarity you get when leaving the eye doctor’s office wearing a new pair of glasses.

Landscapes, nectar bats and bears — oh my! Filmmaker Karen Bass shares stunning footage shot for the BBC and National Geographic.

The LXD bust out their body-rocking moves, gymnastics included.

Time-lapse photographer Louis Schwartzberg shows you the unfolding of a flower like you’ve never seen before.

Young conductor Gustavo Dudamel pulls jaw-dropping passion out of an orchestra of teenagers.

And JR, the renegade photographer and 2011 TED Prize winner, takes oversize portraiture to the streets — with your help.
