I have suffered from BAD for 16 years now. I know it’s not the same as schizophrenia but it has presented many challenges in my life along with many hospitalisations too. I feel I have ‘reached the other side’ and I have started study and can finally see a future. Your talk Dr Elyn Saks has shown me too that what I am dreaming about my future is entirely possible! Please continue your work to abolish mechanical restraints so hopefully Australia will follow. They are the most soul destroying devices to be used and not once did I feel safe too! Thank u for your talk :-) It’s one step closer to being in a world where ppl aren’t stigmstised for having s mental illness!
