[...] What was wonderful about the topic of The Space Between is that it allowed for personal interpretation of values, beliefs, anger, wonderment, thanksgiving, artistry, and so much more. Because there was no clearly defined meaning, the speakers could tailor their presentations to fit their personal take on all things. And, just in case the word Women after the TEDx makes anyone think the conference was something akin to a bra burning, man hating, feminist event, rest assured it was anything but that. From war correspondents to artists, the topics ranged from helping reconnect prison fathers with their daughters to gender lens investing to Darwin reshaping the way we think about creation.
I think that the Zahraó Langhi and John Gerzema talks let you see to the truth about feminist and masculist crisis in reality and best captured the event theme - The Space Between.

"The rise of the modern feminist movement in the 1960s and 1970s has broken some of the sociological and psychological barriers toward women." Men and women are equal and unique in their own ways. To ask equal opportunity in developing his/her own uniqueness instead imitate each other would benefit both parties. A society that allows both the equal opportunity to blossom to the fullest would be for the first time the richest society ever worth inhabitancy. If women don't realize this then they will be either slaves or helpless followers, and fall into the subtle conspiracy in the feminist movement. An intelligent society should embrace the idea that women’s uniqueness must be recognized, respected, supported since for so long the uniqueness has been repressed by the dominant male society even women themselves deeply conditioned and accepted the fact that we are not equal, and gradually become bitchy (that men have often felt and get used to) to release the negative energy.

The current century offer the potential, a turning point, an open moment of women achieving equality, what would really determine the outcome of their marching forward is the level of historical awareness without ever losing the sight of it.
