If everyone actually saw a situation in their life time where a gun was a solution to a violent situation and not the cause the repealing of the second amendment wouldn't be in question. I find it laughable that citizens are willing to put their lives in the hands of a government that spent billions employing 9,000 police officers to search for two people (by the way it was a private citizen that called the police and disclosed the whereabouts of suspect #2 in the Boston marathon bombings.) What if it was a citizen, say the car jacking victim they kidnapped had a weapon of his own and put one or both of the suspects down? Would this be a bad thing? There has to be a balance to this argument.

I'm obviously pro gun, pro handgun, pro assault weapon, etc. I always find that the opposing argument comes from people who've never seen or been a victim of violence, let alone anything. They always comment how Americans have a false sense of danger and fear. Well all it took was a terror attack carried out by two people for this fear to manifest itself in a 9,000 man force that had every right to take ALL of your rights away! It's too late to take the guns away, get used to people wanting the right to defend themselves by force if necessary. Real life can and will happen from time to time.
