Think-Again-programsIn the wilds of planet Earth, there exists a species so creative that it not only uses tools but is constantly rewriting the rules of what a tool can be, so cooperative that they build wildly complex systems to support each other and so consternating that its inconsistent behavior would make even the most seasoned of biologists screamed. That species is of course: human beings. This session will explore all the beauty and bizarreness that is us.

Here are the speakers who took the stage in this third session of TEDGlobal 2013. Click on their name to read a recap of their talk:

Russell Foster studies sleep and its role in our lives, examining how our perception of light influences our sleep-wake rhythms.

Memory-manipulation expert Elizabeth Loftus explains how our memories might not be what they seem — and how implanted memories can have real-life repercussions.

In his compelling stage works, Hetain Patel uses powerful imagery and storytelling to examine questions of identity.

Neuroscientist Sandra Aamodt explores new research and its impact on our understanding of ourselves and our lives.

Psychologist Kelly McGonigal translates academic research into practical strategies for health, happiness and personal success.

Natasha Bedingfield writes and sings heartfelt, dynamic pop anthems, like 2008’s smash “Pocketful of Sunshine.”
