Calling all New York City middle and high school students: Apply to attend TEDYouth 2014!

Why, hello there—you middle or high school student in the New York City area. One thing you’ll want to do today, besides your homework: apply to attend TEDYouth 2014. Applications are now open!

A free day of TED Talks and assorted hijinx, TEDYouth 2014 will take place at the Brooklyn Museum on Saturday, November 15, from 11am to 6pm. At the event, you’ll explore the theme “Worlds Imagined.” You’ll hear mind-shifting stories and big ideas on a wide array of topics — from pop culture to hard science.

The program will be made up of three sessions of speakers, plus a lunch break with activities, demos and a chance to talk with your favorite speakers. Attendance is free of charge—and you’ll get a chance to hang out with 400 other middle and high school students from around the city.

Some of the speakers who’ve appeared on the TEDYouth stage in the past: MythBusters host Adam Savage shared how simple ideas lead to scientific discoveries, young activist McKenna Pope explained how she forever changed the EasyBake oven, and YouTube’s trends manager Kevin Allocca revealed why videos go viral.
