TED nominated for 7 Webby Awards

“Who wins the Internet?” That’s the question that the Webby Awards posed on social media as they released the slate of 2015 nominees yesterday.  So we are excited to see that TED and TED-Ed between us are up for seven awards.

Update: We won a few! and couldn’t be more thrilled and grateful.

We’re nominated in Websites: Events, as well as in Websites: Best Home Page, thanks to our redesign last year. We also received a nod for Websites: Best Practices and Mobile Sites & Apps: Education & Reference.

Meanwhile TED-Ed was nominated for Websites: Education, Online Film & Video: Science & Education and Online Video Channels & Networks: Science & Education.

In 2014, the Webbys received more than 12,000 entries, so we are humbled to be nominated in so many categories. The voting in each will be done by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences — and there will be a People’s Voice winner for each as well, voted on by you. So head to the Webby Awards site to vote and to learn about all the amazing websites, apps and social campaigns that received nominations. You’ll definitely find new things to love.

The winners will be announced on April 27, 2015, and will receive their trophies in a ceremony in New York City, hosted by comedian Hannibal Buress.
