Nov 5 2009Sagmeister is such an inspiration. For “Four Sabbatical Lessons From Sagmeister”, read http://tiny.cc/p1BPZ. He’s done a lot to advance the cause of sabbaticals. Wouldn’t it be nice if every career ladder included occasional sabbaticals?

I agree with his thinking, you have to revitalize your passion for what you do. I found that in my working life thus far, I also have started to duplicate my work, it’s often not intentional but you do feel quite disappointed when you look back and see the repetition. I would love to take a break even if it was only a couple months but I’m not exactly a world famous designer. Never the less a break would give me the opportunity to work on all those I’ve ideas I’ve been collecting. Plus I believe that we all need to find a balance between work and play.
