Here’s the third talk from TED2012 (still going on). Yestrday, Vijay Kumar wowed the TED audience with his (and his team’s) flying quadrotors, small, agile robots that swarm, sense each other, and form ad hoc teams, and he premiered a very special music video — created specially for TED — which has gone viral less than a day after posting. (Recorded at TED2012, February 2012, in Long Beach, California. Duration: 16:47)

I would like to see this technology used to re-seed the planet. I would like to see them used to carry tree seeds to the devastated areas that have been clear cut around the world. One to drill a hole, the second to drop the seed and then a crop duster-sized one to water the ground. This is my dream for this technology. My wish for Mr. Kumar and my hope for the planet. I am eager to help with this effort anyway I can.

Don’t kid yourself, this technology will be used for war, not plating stupid trees.

Your POSITION is “on the sofa”, your VELOCITY is negligible and your mind gets ACCELERATED by an interesting TED Talk. But then a JERK “reminds” you of physics you have never heard of and you SNAP realizing that you were DERIVED once too often. ;-)
So here the useful explanations (missing in the talk):
JERK is the rate of change of acceleration:

SNAP is the rate of change of the jerk with respect to time:
